Ticket to Work Program
Offering support for people with disabilities who want to work.
Through the Social Security Administration’s Ticket to Work program, Denver Workforce Development offers people with disabilities an opportunity to achieve greater independence by providing choices in employment services and access to meaningful work. Access One – Colorado Workforce is an approved Employment Network under the Ticket to Work program. We operate in partnership with your local workforce center to provide great employment services that can help you move toward self-sufficiency. Designed for individuals with disabilities who want to work, the program is a key to unlocking vocational rehabilitation, training, job referrals, and other ongoing support and services to help SSA beneficiaries reach their employment goals.
Ticket to Work is available to individuals age 18 through 64 who receive Social Security Disability Insurance or Supplemental Security Income and wants to work and achieve self-sufficiency.
A number of work incentives may be available to Ticket to Work participants, including:
- Waiving of medical reviews during program participation
- Access to specialized disability and employment counseling to further support employment success
- In many cases, participants can keep medical benefits once cash benefits end due to earnings
- Individualized job placement assistance based on individual needs and current programming

The Speer, Montbello and Westside Workforce Centers offer resources for individuals with visual or hearing impairments, physical limitations or learning challenges. Resources include:
- Text magnification systems
- Computer screen magnification and screen/text reading software
- Speak and type software programs
- Audio amplification equipment
- Software to enhance reading, writing and productivity
- Physical accommodations
Assistive technology and other adaptive equipment is available at the centers during normal hours of operation. Previous experience may be required to effectively utilize assistive technology. Please see resource room staff for more information. Sign language interpreter services and alternative formats of Workforce Center materials are also available upon request.
