District Election

Per state statue, the city convened a district election in November 2024 to preserve the DDA’s ability to finance public investments downtown.

DDA Pilot Year In Review

In 2025, Denver’s expanded DDA began accepting applications for major projects that will redefine the downtown experience and attract new residents, businesses, and visitors. The pilot year of the DDA has been highly successful- awarding $166 million in investments across 13 different projects in 4 award cycles, expanding the board’s membership, and selecting projects across a range of areas, including downtown safety, parks and public spaces, new retail businesses, and new housing.

DDDA Approves Funding for High Fidelity Plaza, Downtown Safety Plan

The Denver Downtown Development Authority (DDDA or DDA) today announced that the DDDA Board of Directors has approved funding for two projects, including the renewal of the Downtown Safety Action Plan and a catalytic office-to-residential conversion of two prominent downtown office towers, now known as High Fidelity Plaza, located at 621 and 633 17th St in downtown Denver.

Major Aerial Art Installations Coming to Downtown Denver in 2026

Denver Arts & Venues (DAV), in partnership with DOTI and DDDA, are excited to announce a spectacular temporary aerial art installation series from Poetic Kinetics launching summer 2026 in Downtown Denver. This large and spectacular art will be designed to drive immediate foot traffic, visitation, and joy in the city’s urban core.

DDDA Approves Renovation of Historic Barth Hotel

The Denver Downtown Development Authority (DDDA) today announced that it approved funding for the historic Barth Hotel building located at 1514 17th St. in downtown Denver. Once complete, this will create 50 units of housing for lower-income seniors in the 30% - 50% area median income (AMI) range.

DDDA Approves Funding for 178 New Residences in Former Office Building

The Denver Downtown Development Authority (DDDA) today announced that it has approved funding for its 13th project downtown since applications for DDDA funding first opened in March 2025. The DDDA Board of Directors unanimously approved an office-to-residential conversion of the historic Petroleum Building located at 110 16th St. in downtown Denver.

DDDA Board Approves Purchase of Denver Pavilions

Mayor Mike Johnston, in partnership with the Denver Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Board announced an intent for the DDA to purchase the Denver Pavilions, with a goal of revitalizing the property as a central hub of Upper Downtown.

Downtown Development Authority Board of Directors Gains New Members

The City and County of Denver today announced the appointment of two new members to the Denver Downtown Development Authority (DDA or DDDA) Board of Directors as well as the reappointments of two existing members. The DDA Board, which previously had five members, will now expand to seven members as a result.
