Fully Vaccinated Facilities

On Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, Mayor Michael B. Hancock announced a new face covering order for Denver requiring face coverings to be worn by everyone age two and older in all indoor public spaces unless the business/venue implements a vaccine verification check system. Businesses can opt to become a fully vaccinated facility in which case face coverings will not be required indoors.

What is a Fully Vaccinated Facility?

In accordance with the current Denver Department of Public Health & Environment (DDPHE) Public Health Order, facilities must require face coverings for all indoor spaces OR choose to operate as a fully vaccinated facility and verify proof of full vaccination before entry. Facilities that choose to verify proof of vaccination upon entry, and have notified DDPHE in advance, are considered “fully vaccinated facilities.”

Businesses operating as fully vaccinated facilities have attested that they will enforce the public health order and require proof of vaccination.

Acceptable proof of vaccination includes verifiable records such as original vaccination card or digital pass via smartphone application like the MyColorado App. Digital photos or photocopies are also accepted.  The identity of the person entering the facility must match the name on the vaccine document.

How to Become a Fully Vaccinated Facility

If a business is interested in attesting as a “fully vaccinated facility,” the following information should be emailed to CovidVaccine@denvergov.org:

  • Name of the facility
  • Address of the facility
  • Type of facility (office building, gym, etc.)
  • Contact information (including email address and phone number) of the person at the facility responsible for verifying the vaccination status of people within the facility
  • Date the facility began verifying vaccination status.

After your attestation is received, DDPHE will send a confirmation of your attestation along with the appropriate signage.
