Park Avenue Bridge and Roadway Improvements

The City and County of Denver is starting bridge and roadway rehabilitation work on the elevated portion of the Park Avenue Viaduct from the Platte River east to Wazee Street.  Work is anticipated to begin March 24, weather permitting.

This critical improvement project incorporates bridge repairs and traffic signal replacements at Wazee and Delgany Streets, as well as new concrete curb ramps, signage and striping.  The project is scheduled to be complete in Fall 2022.

Travel Information

Beginning Wednesday, March 24, weather permitting, motorists should expect intermittent single and/or double lane closures on Park Avenue, both inbound and outbound, between Wazee Street and I-25.  Traffic impacts will also take place on Wewatta Street and Delgany Street at the Park Avenue intersection. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the project duration and no traffic impacts will take place during scheduled events at Coors Field.

Motorists are encouraged to sign up for traffic updates by contacting the project’s public information team at parkaveprojectco@gmail.com or by calling 720-772-7703, as the work schedule is subject to change.

The voter-approved Elevate Denver Bond program is providing a portion of the funding for the bridge rehabilitation project.
