Lead Poisoning Prevention and Nutrition Resources

While the primary interventions for lead poisoning include eliminating and avoiding exposure to lead, an additional recommendation is to include eating healthy foods to help protect your child.

For children and adults, three key nutrients can play a role in protecting the body from the harmful effects of lead: calcium, iron, and vitamin C. Consuming adequate amounts of these three nutrients can help limit the amount of lead that the body absorbs.
