Maternal Child Health

Our Maternal Child Health Program works to optimize the health and well-being of pregnant/birthing people, families, caregivers and children by employing primary prevention and early intervention public health strategies. We do this, in partnership with Denver Health & Hospital Authority, via a robust, innovative, data-driven action plan.

Care Coordination for Children and Youth with Special Healthcare Needs

Our Denver Health based team of professionals, including a nurse, social workers and care coordinators, provides no-cost support to help families navigate and secure resources to ensure every child and family thrives. Child Care Support

Together with the Colorado Statewide Parent Coalition, we provide training and technical assistance to Friend, Family & Neighbor child care providers caring for Denver’s youngest residents. We also partner with The Community Play Village and Thriving Families Colorado to bring high quality early learning, developmental screening, and resource referrals to families in our community.

Community Outreach & Safety

We are thrilled to partner with Denver Public Library’s Early Learning Department and the Denver Department of Transportation & Infrastructure’s Office of Community & Business Engagement, along with Denver Public Schools Community Hubs, to offer car seat and child restraint outreach and education. We also work with select Denver Public Schools to implement Let Grow, along with other childhood independence efforts. Additionally, we serve as a thought partner for schools and parents advocating for safe screen and tech use among students.

Family Connects

Together with Jefferson County, Denver Human Services, Denver Health and the Public Health Institute at Denver Health, we are bringing Family Connects, an evidence-based universal screening and referral program, to all families welcoming a new baby.

In response to the passage of Senate Bill 23-288 and in partnership with Danielle Peters Consulting, we are proud to provide technical training and enrollment support to Denver doulas wishing to become Medicaid providers.

Created for doulas, by doulas, this step-by-step training series will guide you through the process of becoming an approved Medicaid doula provider in Colorado. Comprehensive and easy to follow, the materials cover Medicaid/CHP+ 101 basics, individual and group enrollment, claims submission and documentation best practices – available in both English and Spanish.
