Towards the goal of promoting equity, strengthening community resiliency, and reducing trauma, Denver ReCAST is organizing an advisory board, with 15 members. The Community Advisory Board members will provide representation of diverse perspectives and experiences supporting the community at large in the project’s focus area of youth violence prevention and trauma-informed mental health services.
The Denver ReCAST Community Advisory Board members will evaluate Denver ReCAST funded services for their cultural sensitivity, developmental appropriateness, and trauma-informed practices. The board will work together to ensure the youth-voice is empowered and centered in the work. Together the board members will help to improve the collaboration and coordinated efforts of city and community entities to embed sustained community change and healing.
Denver ReCAST is convening an advisory board of 15 diverse individuals representing neighborhoods heavily impacted by violence. The city will engage with the board members to ensure strategies are culturally relevant and identify the needs or gaps in services that are most relevant to this project. The advisory board will be tasked with holding monthly meetings in which to express their advice or concerns about the services being provided by Denver ReCAST funded city agencies and community-based organizations. The Adult Board and Youth Board will be partners in the work, making sure that the youth-voice is heard in strategies toward creating sustained community healing.
All advisory board members will be compensated for their time and expertise.
The advisory board meets every third Tuesday online at 6:30 p.m. Interested community members are encouraged to apply.
