The Denver Police Department is committed to Denver’s Vision Zero goal and is increasing the number of traffic police officers to educate and enforce traffic violations. Using a data-driven approach, officers will be deployed in areas where there are a high number of crashes.

The top fatal crash factors include speed, impaired driving, aggressive driving, distracted driving, and not wearing seat belts. Motorists are reminded to follow the speed limit, designate a sober driver, stay calm and do not show displeasure to other drivers, don’t text and drive, and always wear your seat belt. Traffic crashes are avoidable and traffic safety is a shared responsibility.
