In partnership with the Denver Dept. of Transportation & Infrastructure, City of Wheat Ridge, Jefferson County Trails Partnership Program Grant, and the Mile High Flood District, this project will evaluate multiple options to determine if it’s possible to build an overpass or underpass of the Clear Creek Trail at West 52nd Avenue while realigning the trail within the creek corridor. The study will also examine overpass and underpass options and different trail alignments north and south of West 52nd Avenue.
As of March 2026: The DeBoer Park bridge is complete! Denver Parks & Recreation and the Mile High Flood District have finished replacing the bridge, which was found to have critical structural issues in 2023 and required full reconstruction. Temporary fencing will remain in place until the irrigation system is turned on and the surrounding landscape can be repaired and seeded in summer 2026.

When implementing trail improvements, construction may require temporary detours. DPR is committed to providing the safest detours available for the shortest amount of time necessary to minimize impacts to users. Although we make every attempt to keep the public informed about the status of our trails, park walks and other amenities, there are times when they must be closed immediately and may not be noted on our website. Please be aware of unforeseen conditions due to weather or other unexpected events and be prepared to use alternate routes if necessary.
