Johnson Recreation Center

Johnson is a Neighborhood Level recreation center located in the northwest area near I-70 and H-265.

Johnson Recreation Center offers a free meal program for youth, along with free membership for youth through the MY Denver Card program. This center also offers Active Older Adult (AOA) classes as well as a free membership for residents ages 60+ through the MY Denver Prime program.

  • Residents can register for this discount at Stapleton, Johnson and Swansea Recreation Centers. 

  • Residents will only need to provide proof of address for all household members at the time of registration – this can be done with a driver’s license, utility bill, school registration, etc.

January 19, 2026: In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, all Denver Recreation Centers will be closed on 1/19/2026. 

Denver Recreation Centers are closed on city-observed holidays. Outdoor pools close during inclement weather when lightning is nearby or temperatures are forecasted to remain below 65 degrees. Emergency closures for unexpected maintenance, power outages, etc. may not be posted online unless they are expected to last for a significant portion of the day or longer. To verify center schedules and hours of operation, please call the facility directly.
