Adventure Hub: Bike and Boat Rentals

Introducing Adventure Hub, DPR's newest addition to outdoor recreation offerings! Open spring, summer, and fall at Washington Park, Adventure Hub offers a variety of equipment rentals from kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and pedal boats, to beach cruiser bikes and surreys that can seat from two to six people. 

Managed by DPR's expert outdoor recreation team, Adventure Hub allows park visitors easy access to explore one of Denver's largest regional parks. No reservations required; hours of operation vary by season:

Hours of Operation:

Spring

April 17 - June 5, 2026:

  • Saturday-Sunday: 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Monday-Thursday: closed
  • Friday: 3:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Summer

June 6 - August 23, 2026:

  • Open Daily: 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Fall

August 24, 2026 - November 1, 2026:

  • Saturday-Sunday: 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Monday-Friday: 3:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Last boat/bike rental issued one hour prior to close
  • Will close 45 minutes early if no rentals issued in last operational hour
  • Closed for winter season and city holidays

Rental Rates:

A variety of recreation equipment is available to rent for up to three (3) hours at a time and are charged by the hour:

How to Purchase:

Rentals can be made with credit cards or cash on-site. All participants must sign a waiver and follow rules and safety protocols: 

Rental Rules & Safety Guidelines

  • First-come, first-served
  • Respect people, wildlife, and equipment
  • Return items on time (late fees apply)
  • Report lost or damaged items

Boat Rental Rules:

  • Personal Floatation Devices (PFDs) required at all times
  • No swimming (including pets)
  • No alcohol or pets allowed on rentals
  • Dock entry/exit only (no beaching)
  • Stay 10 feet from aerators/fountains
  • No standing in kayaks/canoes
  • No horseplay or intentional collisions
  • One rider per single kayak or stand-up paddleboard (SUP)
  • Dock access limited to boat renters
  • Non-motorized private boats 15-feet or less allowed
  • Fishing allowed (age 16+ requires license)
  • Lake may close due to weather
  • 30-minute wait required after lightning
  • Patrons may be asked to leave at any time

Youth Boating Rules:

  • Ages 8-17 may ride independently with a parent/guardian signed waiver
  • Ages 3-7 must ride with adult in a canoe, tandem kayak, or pedal boat
  • Ages 0-2 allowed on pedal boats only

Bike Rental Rules:

  • Helmets required
  • Lock unattended bikes
  • Surreys must stay in park boundaries

Boating & Lake Use in Denver Parks

Almost all* of Denver's park lakes are open for hand-launched, human or wind powered boating. Motorized boating is prohibited. No permits are required.  

*Stand-up Paddle boarding (SUP) and other hand-launched watercraft are prohibited at Summit Lake Park and Echo Lake Park.

Boating is at your own risk. All vessels must follow state boating statues and regulations. A sound-producing device and least one life jacket per person aboard is required to be on all vessels.
