Skyline Park Improvements

Project Overview

Three blocks of Skyline Park

Located between 15th and 18th Streets along Arapahoe Street, Skyline Park is at the heart of Denver’s downtown. This project will adapt this critical park space for a new era of more accessible and vibrant experiences for residents, workers, students, and visitors.

A community-based vision was created for all three blocks of Skyline Park to transform it into a public park that is...

  • A welcoming destination that equitably brings people together through a mix of experiences
  • A cultural icon that celebrates the arts, cultural, and Denver community
  • A connected place that integrates with its edges and plays an active role in the multi-modal network
  • A resilient oasis that improves ecological health and individual wellness
  • A catalytic spark that contributes to an active, thriving, and vibrant downtown

Project Background & Community Engagement

Taking place from 2020-2021, community engagement to develop the overall vision plan for the park consisted of several stakeholder committees, focus groups, public workshops, and surveys.

Skyline Park Block 1 (Arapahoe St. between 15th and 16th) is now the home of a Street Soccer USA synthetic turf field. The project was delivered in partnership with Street Soccer USA and features a synthetic turf soccer field that provides a space for both youth and adults to come together and play.

Construction Notice: Work is underway as of February 2026 and is anticipated to be complete spring 2027. Download a flyer to share.

Block 2 improvements at Skyline Park will transform the area between 16th and 17th Streets along Arapahoe Street into a dynamic urban space. The design creates a vibrant gathering space that activates the park throughout the day and across all seasons while improving accessibility and circulation through downtown Denver. This first phase is a critical component of the Reimagine Skyline Park initiative, which will reconnect all three blocks of the park to surrounding streets and reinforce its role as a central public space in Denver's downtown core.

The Block 2 (Phase 1) design and construction is a $30 million project with funding including $2.5M from Elevate Denver Bond, $1M Great Outdoors Colorado, $5M Denver Downtown Development Authority, $2M DOTI Green Infrastructure with the remainder of $19.5M coming from Denver Parks & Recreation.
