Green Valley Ranch Recreation Center Indoor Pool

Project Update: July 2023

During routine quality assurance testing on the pool it was discovered that more extensive testing was required, delaying further work on this project. Testing has concluded and construction activities will resume in the next month with an opening date anticipated in early 2024. Denver Parks and Recreation thanks the community for their patience and looks forward to staffing this long-awaited amenity.

Project Background

The Green Valley Ranch Recreation Center, built in 2006 and located at 4890 Argonne Way, was designed to accommodate a future building expansion to include an indoor pool and other support services. The population continues to rapidly expand at one of the highest rates in Denver and the area is lacking adequate aquatic amenities. Building an indoor pool also makes good on a promise made to this community from the 2007 Elevate Denver Bond. This project includes the construction of a natatorium and other support services such as an office, dressing rooms, storage and chemical rooms.

Public Meeting #3

The need for additional aquatic facilities in District 11 and far northeast Denver will soon be met. Over the past year, Denver Parks and Recreation led a community-driven process to guide the design, features and pool layout. The feedback received was primarily focused around:

  • Activities for all ages and interest
  • Space for classes and recreational pool use
  • Unique and fun design

The final design for this aquatic facility is available on YouTube.
