Bear Creek Greenbelt

Trail Detour Update: April 2022

Construction of the Bear Creek Trail improvements will begin the week of April 18, starting with mobilization and staging for Phase 1, which includes concrete work and parallel trail development, between the Sister's City Trail (east of S. Estes St.) and S. Wadsworth Blvd.

Trail closures within the work area include the Bear Creek Trail, the Stone House Trail and the dirt two-track trail that begins at the Wadsworth Blvd. Trailhead. For your safety, please respect the trail closures.

The concreate path from the Wadsworth Blvd. Trailhead to the bridge over Bear Creek will remain open for access to the Bear Creek Greenbelt north of the creek.

Cherry Creek Trail

Iliff Avenue

The Cherry Creek Trail is currently open under Iliff Avenue. As construction continues temporary closures and flagging operations requiring cyclists to dismount will be required intermittently. To perform bridge work and underground pipe installation a full closure of Cherry Creek trail will be implemented Monday, September 19 for approximately four weeks. Trail users will detour along Iliff Avenue to the signalized crosswalk at Trenton Way and back along Iliff Avenue to join Cherry Creek Trail on the other side. Bridge work over Cherry Creek will also require crews to restrict westbound Iliff Avenue traffic to one lane from Valentia Street to Trenton Way over Cherry Creek Trail. Detour information here. Motorists should expect delays.
