DPR Opens More Recreation Centers & Indoor Pools; Extends Hours

Denver Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce the fourth phase of reopening Denver Recreation Centers, registered programs and activities. 

On Monday, August 16, ten additional recreation centers will open:

  • 5090 Recreation Center: (M-F) 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; (Sa) 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Barnum Recreation Center: (M-F) 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; (Sa) 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • College View Recreation Center: (M-F) Noon - 8:00 p.m.; (Sa) 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Harvard Gulch Recreation Center: (M-F) 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; (Sa) 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Johnson Recreation Center: (M-F) 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; (Sa) 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • La Familia Recreation Center: (M-F) 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; (Sa) 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Montbello Recreation Center (M-F) 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. ;(Sa-Su) 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • Southwest Recreation Center: (M-F) 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. ;(Sa) 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • St. Charles Recreation Center: (M-F) Noon - 8:00 p.m. ;(Sa) 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Swansea Recreation Center: (M-F) 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. ;(Sa) 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

In addition, the 16 centers that are currently open will extend their hours of operations during the week and onto the weekend.

The last day of operation for outdoor swimming pools will be Saturday, August 14. Indoor swimming pool openings on Monday, August 16* include:

  • Athmar Recreation Center: (M-F) 9:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.; (Sa) 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
  • Carla Madison Recreation Center: (M-Th) 5:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.; (F) 5:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; (Sa) 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.; (Su) 8:00 - 11:30 a.m.
  • Central Park Recreation Center: (M-Th) 5:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.; (F) 5:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; (Sa) 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.; (Su) 8:00 - 11:30 a.m.
  • Glenarm Recreation Center: (M-F) 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.; (Sa) 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • Hiawatha Davis Recreation Center: (M-F) 9:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.; (Sa) 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • Montbello Recreation Center (M-F) 10:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.; (Sa-Su) 10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
  • Rude Recreation Center: (M-F) 9:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.; (Sa) 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
  • Washington Park Recreation Center: (M-F) 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; (Sa) 8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.; (Su) 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

*Scheitler Recreation Center's indoor pool will open, pending completion of mechanical repairs. Neighboring Berkeley Park Outdoor Pool's season will be extended for three weeks, from August 16 through September 4. 

Registration for fall activities opened August 9.

The remaining four recreation centers (Ashland, La Alma, Martin Luther King Jr. and Twentieth Street) will open September 7. Detailed information is available online at denvergov.org/Recreation.
