The updated Noise Ordinance is now in effect and brings some important changes for event organizers. These updates simplify the sound permitting process for events held on public property—including the removal of the Noise Ordinance Worksheet.

What’s Changed

  • The Noise Ordinance Worksheet is no longer required.
  • Properly permitted events on public property are now automatically eligible for higher decibel limits.
  • You are still required to submit the Electronic Communications Form along with a site map showing amplified or mechanical noise sources (e.g., speakers, generators).

Next Steps

  • Check the updated instructions in Step 3.19 of the OSE event application the next time you log in.
  • Upload all sound-related documents 30 days before your event.
