Emergency Systems Testing

Denver to Test Outdoor Sirens and Reverse Emergency Notifications from May 9 to May 21 

Safety agencies within the City and County of Denver plan to test Outdoor Warning Sirens and opt-in Reverse Emergency Notification alerts (REN alerts) from May 9 through May 21. These tests will increase Denver’s overall preparedness by ensuring the systems are properly working should we need to deploy them in a real emergency.  

Prior to testing, we encourage residents to sign up to receive REN alerts. These alerts are used by Denver 9-1-1 and inform the public via voice call, text message, or email of situations that may impact life safety and how they can remain safe. People are able to enter multiple address entries and do not need to be a resident to register, therefore non-residents who work in Denver or have children in Denver schools are eligible to sign up.
