More about DenveREADY Business Continuity Program

Businesses and their staff can face a variety of threats and hazards which could impact the continuity of operations.

Some hazards include:

  • Natural hazards: floods, tornadoes, and earthquakes.
  • Health hazards such as widespread and highly contagious illnesses, such as COVID-19.
  • Human-caused threats including random acts of mass violence and/or accidents.
  • Technology-related hazards such as power outages, equipment failure and cyber security threats.

Business leaders can prepare for these threats and hazards in advance, to mitigate the impact on the continuity of operations. Creating a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) for your business or corporation will build up the resiliency of the organization against hazards and threats while safeguarding the protecting the critical operations and functions of the business, its staff, and the community.

Benefits of a COOP:

  • Enables your business to prepare in advance for threats and hazards.
  • Provides your business flexibility so that it can adapt to changes as needed when responding to threats and hazards.
  • Encourages stability and confidence amongst staff when faced with a hazard or a threat.
  • Helps minimize losses.
  • Ensures resilience in recovering from a threat or a hazard.
