For Employers

Denver Workforce Development offers no-cost recruitment services, employee screening, and job promotion, helping local employers grow and sustain a diverse and talented workforce.

Services We Offer:

There are many ways we can support your business as you search for the right kind of talent. We organize our services under three big categories, but we do not work in a "one size fits all" model. You will always have the opportunity to work with us and adjust our services to your specific needs. Our services include:

Recruitment

Our team offers both individual and general recruitment services for employers.  Which one is right for you?

Individual recruitment:

  • We assemble a recruitment team to conduct an extensive skills match within our database of jobseekers.
  • We pre-screen interested candidates for qualifications and eligibility prior to being referred to you.
  • You select your preferred method of contact from interested candidates (phone, fax, email, walk-in).

General Recruitment

Participate in one or more of our 25 annual job fairs and connect directly with potential employees.

Job Postings

We recommend all employers create an account with Connecting Colorado— a state and county-run job board system that allows companies to quickly post and promote their job openings. Create your Connecting Colorado account here.

Screening

If you need support filling hard-to-fill or middle-skill positions, our team can help pre-screen and assess candidates to meet specific qualifications, skills, and eligibility.

You may also refer a job candidate or existing employee to complete one or more assessment tools at no cost. The results are shared confidentially with you for determination of employment, promotion, or reassignment.

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Employer Guide for Hiring Veterans is the premier resource to assist and educate employers who have made the proactive decision to include transitioning service members, veterans and wounded warriors in their recruitment and hiring initiatives. Youth Career Initiatives

The City and County of Denver is committed to investing in our future workforce and building our talent pipeline.

  • Through our Denver Youth Employment Program (DYEP), in partnership with Denver Public Schools, Denver employers can pay certain youth workers less than Denver's established minimum wage for a limited time. The program requires that in exchange for this exemption, the employer provide career-building experience, training, or an industry-recognized credential.
  • The Mayor’s YouthWorks Initiative helps connect young people to summer job opportunities and also rewards eligible youth for their commitment to employment over the summer. If youth meet the requirements and complete all steps, they can receive a $250 retention bonus, all while gaining valuable job experience! Learn more at Denvergov.org/youthsummer.

Qualified businesses can access wage subsidies in exchange for providing new employees with training and needed experience. Our program offers up to 50% reimbursement of wages to businesses -- up to $6,000 - that hire qualified individuals to train in new career opportunities.

If you are interested and qualify for this program, you would get:

  • Pre-screened candidates that closely meet the requirements of your available position
