Denver Economic Development & Opportunity (DEDO) is collecting feedback to help inform the development of a Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area (NRSA) in the proposed neighborhoods of Athmar Park, Barnum, Barnum West, La Alma Lincoln Park, Sun Valley, Valverde, Villa Park, and Westwood.

If approved, programs within the NRSA will be funded by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

This plan, if approved, will help shape how resources are invested in these neighborhoods for years to come, impacting housing options, local services, economic opportunities, and community programs that directly affect residents’ daily lives.

Overview

DEDO is developing the West Denver Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area (NRSA), a place-based initiative designed to strategically focus and align investment within a defined geographic area. This approach allows for greater flexibility in how resources are used to address local priorities.

For residents, the NRSA, if approved, aims to strengthen neighborhood stability by supporting essential services, enhancing economic opportunities, improving housing conditions, and advancing community development efforts.

The NRSA is informed by the input from residents, non-profits, small businesses, and community organizations to create a coordinated plan that responds to local needs. Community feedback plays a central role in determining which investments are made and how programs are implemented to support long-term well-being.

Programs within the NRSA utilize Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

We Want Your Input

DEDO is seeking feedback from residents, businesses, non-profits, community & neighborhood organizations that are in and or serve the proposed designated neighborhoods. In addition to previously hosted public meetings, public feedback will be carefully reviewed and will ultimately guide strategies, partnerships, and investments in the development of the NRSA.

If approved by HUD, the NRSA will have the ability to support local housing, economic development, public services, and neighborhood facilities programs.
