The objective of this project is to provide a safe and comfortable crossing for pedestrians and bicycles managing access for automobiles at the intersection of E Martin Luther King Blvd (MLK Blvd) and N Kearney St in Denver.
The project will install a new traffic signal; improve existing curb ramps, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and curb returns; and improve signage and pavement markings. To provide a safer pedestrian and bicycle crossing, alterations will be made to the median configuration allowing for pedestrian and bicycle refuge in the median. Left turns and through movements will be prohibited from Kearney St. The project will also investigate the potential removal of left turns from MLK Blvd.
The project will move the existing RTD bus stops from the MLK Blvd & Krameria St intersection to the MLK Blvd & Kearney St intersection.
