Park Avenue Bridge and Roadway Improvements

The City and County of Denver is completing bridge and roadway rehabilitation work on the elevated portion of the Park Avenue Viaduct from the Platte River east to Wazee Street.

This critical improvement project incorporates bridge repairs and traffic signal replacements at Wazee and Delgany Streets, as well as new concrete curb ramps, signage and striping. The voter approved Elevate Denver Bond program is providing a portion of the funding for the bridge rehabilitation project.

The project is scheduled to be complete in Fall 2022.

Paving Activities Continue

The City and County of Denver and Hamilton Construction Company have reached a major milestone on the Park Avenue Bridge and Roadway Improvement Project from the Platte River east to Wazee Street.

Crews will be paving and waterproofing the roadway surface. Paving work will require full closures of Delgany and Wewatta Streets at Park Avenue from Monday, July 18 through Monday, July 25. During the extended closures, two lanes of traffic will be maintained on Park Avenue in both directions. Pedestrian access will also be maintained throughout the project duration.

Delgany Street traffic is advised to continue inbound on Park Avenue to Market Street, turn left and continue to Broadway. Turn left onto North Broadway to 28th Street and turn left to access Delany Street. Wewatta Street traffic will continue inbound on Park Avenue to Blake Street, turn right and continue to 20^th Street. Turn right on 20^th Street, continue to Chestnut Place, and turn left. Continue east to 19^th Street to access Wewatta Street.

Travel Information
