These projects will improve the connection of the High Line Canal Trail in Denver and neighboring areas, creating a safer environment for pedestrians and cyclists.
Project Status: Planning, Design and Pre-Construction - Construction is anticipated to begin in 2025. E. Yale Avenue is a critical east-west arterial in southeast Denver, crossing through and serving City and County of Denver (CCD) and Arapahoe County residents. Yale Avenue near the E. Yale Avenue/S. Holly Street intersection experiences significant congestion and the traffic signal infrastructure is dated. The High Line Canal Trail is a major regional trail facility used for both recreation and commuting that crosses Yale Avenue just west of the E. Yale Avenue/S. Holly Street intersection without a safe connection. Improvements are needed to provide safe and convenient travel for all types of travelers.

Project Status: This project was completed in December 2023. The City and County of Denver’s Department of Transportation & Infrastructure has completed the majority of the High Line Canal Trail Underpass Project at Parker Road and Mississippi Avenue. This new connection offers users a safer alternative to the previous trail which had pedestrians crossing at the busy intersection of Mississippi Avenue and Parker Road.
