Green Valley Ranch Boulevard Travel Improvements

Project Overview

Denver's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) is making improvements to Green Valley Ranch Boulevard between Chambers and Tower roads to help move more people, safely, along this two-mile stretch whether they're walking, rolling, biking or in a car. Phases 2 and 3 of the travel improvement project started in late May 2024.

The project will include the following travel enhancements:

  • Phase 1: Sidewalks (Complete)
    • Provide better pedestrian connectivity along the corridor by constructing a new 8-foot detached sidewalk to fill in the gap between Peña Boulevard and Telluride Street on the south side of Green Valley Ranch Boulevard.
  • Phase 2: Peña Blvd. to Tower Road - May 2024 to summer 2025
    • Upgrading Landscaped Medians so they are raised with concrete curb to better separate travel lanes and visually narrow the roadway to help slow vehicle speeds.
    • Adding New Protected Bike Lanes to separate bikes from vehicles and reduce conflicts, as well as connecting people on bikes to a new bike lane east of Tower Road.
    • Signalizing Private Drive - King Soopers (just east of Tower Road)
    • Reconstructing N. Salida Street intersection
    • Paving Green Valley Ranch Blvd.
  • Phase 3: Chambers Road to Peña Blvd. - January 2025 to May 2025
    • Adding a traffic signal on Green Valley Ranch Boulevard at Kittredge Street for better movement of all travel modes at the intersection.
