Communication can help to ensure that DOTI is informed by local voice and community priorities. DOTI is committed to being transparent, responsive, and collaborative.

Stay connected to the latest City and DOTI updates by signing up for notifications and alerts at denvergov.org/Signups. You can receive information about projects, meetings, surveys, and engagement opportunities relevant to your interests. In addition, many of the webpages below include project and program specific newsletter sign-ups.

DOTI staff engage directly with neighborhoods across Denver to build relationships and foster open communication with RNOs and residents, including in the following settings:

• DOTI staff attend RNO meetings when there are active projects to share project specific updates and engagement opportunities.
• Resource tabling at community events, if capacity allows (Bike to Work days, Lunar New Year, Mid-Autumn Fest, etc.)
• DOTI Open Houses will be hosted in each quadrant of the city (Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, Southeast). Please keep an eye out for dates and times for your area.

To further strengthen these partnerships and ensure engagement efforts are meaningful, accessible, and effective, DOTI is sharing a brief survey specifically for RNOs to collect feedback on communication, engagement preferences, and community support needs. RNO Survey Link

311 City Services

The Online Service Hub, or 311, is Denver’s centralized system to track, analyze, and respond to resident concerns.  By using this service, you can help us identify hot topics in the city and address issues like speeding, street racing, pedestrian hazards, potholes, graffiti and more in your neighborhood. 311 is the best way to ensure that important issues are assigned to city staff that can most effectively respond.

311 City Services(denvergov.org/311)Provides residents with an accessible way to request city attention or services (you can also call 720-913-1311, or text "hello" to 439311 or HEY311). If you’re not sure what city department to contact about your neighborhood issue, submitting a 311 request or inquiry is a great way to start.

Program Spotlight: Community Active Living Coalition (CALC)

The Community Active Living Coalition (CALC) works to promote healthy, active, and connected neighborhoods across Denver. CALC supports community-led efforts that encourage walking, biking, and active transportation as part of everyday life. After a decade of transformative impact, CALC reflects on 10 years of amazing growth. Throughout its evolution from Community Health Assessment, Community Connection, to Capacity Building, CALC has transformed how community experiences and engages with city government.

Denver CALC offers a wide range of support through their Community Connectors:

• Funding support and navigation
• Support for Safe Routes to School initiatives, such as Walk & Roll events, Bike & Roll events, and organizing Bike Buses
• Connections to the Community Streets Program for intersection art and other placemaking efforts
• Shared leadership opportunities, including organizing and planning community walks, rides, and active transportation events
• Advising on community engagement best practices
• Connecting you with city resources and other community organizations and resources

Supporting community meetings through attendance, planning, or facilitation

Bond Projects

Thanks to the generosity of Denver voters, DOTI is delivering several Bond projects that will enhance city services across every neighborhood, providing new and/or improved critical infrastructure from bridges, roads, and fires stations to pools, playgrounds and public libraries!

Transportation & Mobility Programs

Rooted in Vision Zero and the Safe System Approach, DOTI is actively improving pedestrian, bicycle, and transit connectivity through significant investments in sidewalks, raised medians and pedestrian refuge islands, bike lanes, intersection crossings, safe routes to schools, traffic calming, and more.

Vision Zero – Vision Zero initiatives support our citywide goal to eliminate traffic deaths and serious injuries on Denver roadways by designing safer streets, promoting slower speeds, and increasing the visibility of all road users. DOTI envisions a city where the street system is planned, designed, and operated to anticipate inevitable human mistakes, mitigate the severity of crashes, and decrease the likelihood of severe injury or death. SPEED Program – Denver is implementing several targeted actions to reduce vehicle speeds and increase community safety including saturating streets with speed limit and electronic speed feedback signs, adjusting traffic signal timing, expanding head starts for pedestrians at intersections, and improving speed enforcement. Denver Moves Everyone (DME) 2050 – the citywide Strategic Transportation Plan that aligns DOTI resources with collective goals to achieve Denver’s transportation vision. It includes multimodal infrastructure projects enhancing safety, reliability, mobility, and access for all people whether walking, biking, rolling, or driving. Sidewalk Program – Building, widening, and repairing sidewalks helps connect people to schools, jobs, transit, parks, libraries, and all the amazing amenities that make our city special. Safe Routes to School – Enhancing safe and active travel options for students through enhancements to school zone signage, traffic signals, bikeways, and pedestrian crossings. (denvergov.org/srts)

Shared bikes and Scooters – Provide residents, employees, and visitors with options to get around Denver without a car, delivering more than 30 million shared bike and scooter trips from 2021 to 2025, reducing an estimated 15 million car trips. (denvergov.org/RidewithRespect)

Slow & Safe Streets with Bikeways – Provide people of all ages and abilities a bicycle network that is safe, comfortable, and connected. (denvergov.org/bikeprogram)

Bike Parking – Ensuring adequate bicycle parking to offer an alternative to driving, increase bike ridership, and reduce demand for vehicular parking in dense urban spaces. (denvergov.org/bikeparking)

Solid Waste Programs

Don’t waste the good stuff, Denver! DOTI’s Solid Waste provides residential collection services and promotes responsible and sustainable waste diversion. We’re currently recycling and composting over 27% of household waste, but there’s still room to grow.

Solid Waste Management

• Denvergov.org/Recycle – Recycle empty bottles, cans, boxes (flattened!), paper, and plastic containers. Includes hard-to-recycle programs for electronics, hazard waste, paint, and more.
• Recycling tip: When in doubt, throw it out – Bagged recycling, plastic bags, metal, electronics, construction waste, and other such contaminates may result in bins not being collected.
• Denvergov.org/Compost – Compost carts are available for all customers and already included in trash fees at no additional cost. Compost all food scraps and yard debris.
• Denvergov.org/LIP – Large Item Pickup will collect an additional 5 large items and 10 bags of trash up to 50 pounds when set out on the appropriate LIP collection day.
• Denvergov.org/TrashSchedule – Sign up for collection reminders and search the Waste Directory by downloading the Denver Trash & Recycling app.

Keep Denver Beautiful – Plan a neighborhood or volunteer cleanup to enhance the visual appearance of Denver by addressing problems of graffiti and litter. (denvergov.org/keepdenverbeautiful)

Graffiti Prevention & Removal – Removing graffiti in a timely manner can keep it from becoming an ongoing problem.  Request graffiti cleanup, learn prevention strategies, and access resources. (denvergov.org/graffiti)

The Solid Waste team is available to attend your RNO meetings (when staffing allows) to provide information and education on recycling, composting, and solid waste services. Please email denvercartsmart@denvergov.org with the event and meeting information.

DOTI Affordability Rebate Programs

Solid Waste & Sidewalk Rebate Programs – You now only need to complete one application to determine your eligibility for rebates for the Solid Waste and Sidewalk programs. To request a hard copy application or receive help completing the application, please email DOTIRebates@denvergov.org. (Denvergov.org/DOTIRebates)

Water Programs

One Water Program – Regional, inter-agency collaboration between the City and County of Denver, Denver Water, Mile High Flood District, Metro Water Recovery, The Greenway Foundation, and Colorado Water Conservation Board to safeguard and maximize Denver’s water resources, breaking down historical silos between drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and other water uses. DOTI Wastewater Division is responsible for the planning, design and construction of citywide sanitary sewer infrastructure, storm sewer and drainage projects, and major water quality and flood-related waterway improvements. (denvergov.org/Wastewater)

Stormwater projects safely and efficiently transport rain and snowmelt across impervious surfaces through a regional network of storm drainage basins where water is naturally treated and eventually reclaimed by the South Platte River. (denvergov.org/dotiprojects)

Snow Removal

Snow Removal – Find information about city plowing operations and residential/commercial responsibilities for clearing sidewalks of snow. (denvergov.org/snow)

Plowtracker - See our plows in action when deployed during snow events by visiting the city’s Online Services Hub at (denvergov.org/Online-Services-Hub)

Snow Angels program – Assist community members in Denver who are physically unable to shovel their front sidewalks, including adjacent ADA ramps and bus stops, during the cold winter months. (denvergov.org/snowangels)

Street Maintenance

Street Sweeping – Denver’s annual street sweeping program operates from April through November to remove dirt and debris from city streets, keeping it out of our air and water, and making our environment cleaner. Sign up for reminders on Denver’s Online Services Hub (denvergov.org/Online-Services-Hub)

Denver asks residents to move their cars on their street sweeping day so the sweepers can reach all the way to the curb line where dirt accumulates. Check the red and white signs on your block for parking restrictions related to street sweeping to avoid a $50 parking citation.

Paving Program – Information on street paving schedules and maintenance activities. (denvergov.org/denverpaving)

Reporting Potholes – DOTI encourages residents to report potholes by visiting Denver’s Online Services Hub. We ask people to get as specific as possible with the location of the pothole, letting us know in which travel lane they see the pothole and nearest cross streets. If you can provide a photo, that is also helpful. Activities in the Public Right-of-way

Right-of-Way Services – Denver's Right-of-Way Services (ROWS) Division manages most activities that occur in the public right-of-way, determining requirements for improvements, reviewing plans, issuing permits, and inspecting work. (denvergov.org/rightofwayservices)

Parking information – Pay a parking ticket, find information about residential parking permits, meter bagging, and meter holidays. (denvergov.org/parking)
