Denver Human Services Announces Free Parenting Skills Course

DENVER — In recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month, Denver Human Services (DHS) will offer a free, in‑person parenting skills course at its East Office at 3815 Steele St in northeast Denver on April 6, 13, 20, and 27. The four‑week series is open to all community members and is designed to help caregivers build practical tools for navigating challenging behaviors and strengthening family relationships.
The course is based on the evidence‑informed Love & Logic® approach, which teaches caregivers how to respond calmly, set healthy boundaries, and support children through empathy and natural consequences.

Participants will learn strategies to:
- Stay calm when behavior becomes challenging
- Build more respectful, connected relationships with their children
- Teach responsibility through empathy
- Create a more peaceful home environment
The course instructor Rebecca Ball is a certified Love & Logic® Institute Classroom Facilitator and a leader in Denver Human Services’ Child Welfare division.
