2023 New City Council Districts Every 10 years, the City Council must redraw district maps to create eleven districts that are as evenly populated, geographically compact, and as reasonable as possible to uphold the one-person-one-vote standard in the US Constitution. This process was done in 2022, and the new maps take effect for the April 2023 election.
