City Council Chamber Renovation to Begin January 2026
Starting at the end of December, the Denver City Council Chamber will undergo a major renovation to bring the space, including the dais where Council Members sit, into full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This project, which has been planned and funded for several years, is a vital step toward making the Council Chamber more accessible and inclusive for all.
- The last City Council meeting in the chamber will be on December 22, 2025.
- There is no City Council meeting on December 29.
- The renovation is expected to continue through June 2026.
Parr-Widener Room for Council Meetings
Starting Monday, January 5, 2026, these sessions will be held in the Parr-Widener Community Room, room 389 in the City and County Building:
- City Council meetings
- Public hearings
- The weekly General Public Comment (GPC) session.
Note that all committees will continue to meet in the City Council Committee Room, room 391.
Due to very limited seating in the Parr-Widener Room, the public is strongly encouraged to:
-
Watch on Denver8.tv. It is also available on Comcast channel 8.
-
Give public hearing testimony via Zoom.
-
Submit written testimony for public hearings.
- Understand that if you choose to attend in person, you will most likely be seated in the 4th-floor overflow room, where the meeting will be streamed live on TV. If you've signed up to speak, you’ll be called into the main room downstairs when it’s your turn.
