Private Projects

  • The closed K-Mart on Monaco and Evans has been purchased by Forum Real Estate. The redevelopment will include housing, retail and open space. Learn more by visiting the project website.
  • The old Safeway at the Happy Canyon Shopping Center will become an Amazon Fresh store. 
  • The Marina Square Redevelopment (8101 E Belleview Ave at S Ulster St) is still in the early proposal stages. Stay up to date on their website.
  • The Bridge Creek Townhomes, 50 single-family attached units, are under construction near the corner of Yosemite & Hampden.
  • The Cameron apartment project has broken ground near Cherry Street and Warren Avenue.
  • Carvana is planned for the former Rockies Inn at Evans and I-25.

Southmoor Business Association (SMBA)

Businesses, property owners and neighbors along the Hampden corridor in the Southmoor area have formed a business association to market the area and the businesses located there. SMBA’s other goals include networking, working with the city on improvement projects and other efforts to improve the area.
