At Community Planning and Development, we work with Denver’s communities to help guide the city’s growth, enhancement and preservation. Our staff prepares city plans and land use regulations as well as reviews, permits, and inspects development applications -- with the objective of ensuring that future construction meets the community-led regulations laid out in Denver's zoning codes and the rigorous standards of the city's building, fire, and energy codes.

Tribal representatives traveled to Denver to share their histories

Denver Community Planning and Development and Landmark Preservation were honored to host seven Tribes over the weekend to collaborate on Denver’s American Indian and Indigenous Peoples historic context study. With a focus on building collaborative and positive relationships between Tribes and the City and County of Denver, many stories were shared about the ancestral land we now call Denver.
