Green Workforce Mini Grant

Denver is offering up to $49,000 to organizations that want to improve their green workforce training. The second 2026 application round will open on June 3, 2026, and close July 10, 2026, at 12:00 P.M.

Eligibility

You can apply if you are a nonprofit, training provider (including for-profit groups with apprenticeships or training programs), community college, or technical college

  • Nonprofits, training providers, community colleges, and technical colleges can apply.
  • The proposal must describe the program design model for Denver employers and Denver Metro candidates.
  • We encourage an emphasis on recruiting Denver NEST neighborhood community members.
  • Eligible proposals must have a timeline of no more than 12 months.

Purpose

The goal of this funding is to provide up to $49,000 to:

  • Help organizations find and fill gaps in Denver’s green workforce.
  • Develop or launch green credentials and curricula that:
    • Equip workers with skills for quality green careers.
    • Prioritize underrepresented and underserved workers.

Funding supports training that leads to quality careers in:

  • Clean Energy: Building electrification, energy efficiency, and renewable energy.
  • Electric Vehicle Technology: Assembly and maintenance, infrastructure, and battery storage.
  • Natural Resource Management: Water quality, tree care, ecological restoration, and deconstruction for materials recovery.

Application Process and Deadlines

We will be accepting applications from January 13 to February 20, 2026. A second round of funding will be available later in 2026.

  • All applications must be received through the Submittable Portal.
  • A W9 and Secretary of State Certificate of Good Standing will be required with the application.
