Denver's vision is for all commercial and multifamily buildings to be all-electric and highly efficient. We know that one of the key ways to do this is for commercial kitchens to begin transitioning away from cooking with fossil gas and start relying more heavily on electric appliances.
All-electric commercial kitchens have tremendous benefits:
- Efficiency: electric appliances are often much more efficient than gas ones. They heat up quickly and can do it using less energy than traditional gas burners.
- Speed: Boil a pot of water in minutes! Because electric appliances are so efficient, they can often cook the same meal in a fraction of the time it takes on a traditional gas appliance.
- Consistency: Electric appliances, such as electric ovens, can be programmed to reach very precise temperatures, times, and automations. This means that your food comes out perfect every single time, and your cook staff can spend more time focused on items like presentation.
- Space: Many electric appliances can tackle a wide variety of cooking tasks, which means you can have fewer appliances in your kitchen, leaving more space to move around.
- Comfort: Electric appliances do not create waste heat the same way traditional gas appliances do. This means your kitchen stays much cooler and your kitchen staff stay much more comfortable.
- Air Quality: Because electric appliances aren't emitting waste gas, your kitchen does not need the same level of ventilation and oven hoods as kitchens using gas. This means a more healthy working environment for your staff and a much more affordable ventilation system for your kitchen buildout.
