Parking lot licensees are required to maintain a permanent sign at each entrance to the parking lot.
- Signs must not exceed 20 square feet in size
- Signs must be illuminated during hours between sunset and sunrise
- Signs must be updated within 15 days of any changes to the required information
Each sign must include the following information:
- License number
- Address of parking lot
- Address and telephone number of the licensee’s local business office
- Hours of operation
- Rates for parking
- If more than one rate is charged, all rates must be shown and clearly noted.
- Payment instructions, including but not limited to:
- Accepted forms of payment (cash, card, app payments, etc.)
- Detailed instructions for payment
- Instructions for payment when payment kiosks are out of service
- Notice of any grace period between entering the parking lot/parking in the lot and paying
- Any terms of parking in the lot, potential violations, and the penalties associated with violations, including but not limited to information such as the following:
- The penalty for parking in the lot without paying
- The penalty for parking in the lot beyond the time paid for
- The fine amount associated with tickets issued by the parking lot
- Whether fine amounts increase after a certain time period
- Any vehicle immobilization penalties the lot may utilize, such as booting or towing
- Contact information for customers to dispute penalties assessed by the parking lot
