Late summer is peak time to observe Colorado’s treasured wildflowers all across the state. From the Eastern Plains to the Western Slope and from alpine to hanging gardens, the blooms are worth slowing down that hike to take in the beauty and diversity. The I Am Denver team spoke with botanist Jennifer Ackerfield of the Denver Botanic Gardens for tips about how, where and why to plan a visit before the season ends.
