“We’re around history all the time, and now we’re living it,” says Brian Trembath, Special Collections Librarian in the Western History/Genealogy department at the Denver Public Library. In the quiet that is now the Central Branch, I Am Denver tours the collection as Trembath discusses efforts to diversify 20th Century holdings and collect history as it’s unfolding — from gathering Black Lives Matter protest signs to archiving photos of COVID-19 closures.
