Research Library Showcases Legacy of African Americans in the West

The archives stored at the Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library provide a look into the vast contributions of the African American community in the West. Located in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood, the library collects photographs, manuscripts, letters, oral histories and even the entire collection of Manual High School yearbooks.

“To be a part of something this unique in this part of the country is just an honor because there’s so much rich history here,” said Charleszine “Terry” Nelson, Blair-Caldwell's special collection and community resource manager.

She gives I Am Denver a tour inside and shares why this research library is so important.
