Domestic Violence Survivor Found Fresh Start in Sun Valley

Lisa Saenz entered public housing to escape an abusive marriage and to have a fresh start with her two children. When the single mother moved to Sun Valley, she started knocking on doors to meet her neighbors. Within a short time those interactions led her to become a leader in the community. For more than a decade she’s been an advocate for residents and the future of the shrinking public housing complex. Even though she no longer lives there, she still considers Sun Valley her home and its residents her family.
