Immigrant & Refugee Commission

  

The Denver Immigrant and Refugee Commission advocates for the immigrant and refugee communities of the City of Denver. They connect communities with allies, stakeholders and resources in Denver and provide valuable community context and input to policy makers. The Commission engages communities in an integrative and meaningfulway and provides education by raising awareness about resources that will make their integration into the Denver community constructive.

ROLE OF THE COMMISSION: To develop collaborative and partnership potential between Denver’s immigrant and refugee communities and the City & County of Denver and to identify and impact mutual community challenges and opportunities.

On Wednesday, January 14, 2015, Jamie Torres, Deputy Director of the Agency for Human Rights & Community Partnerships and Director of the New Office on Immigrant & Refugee Affairs heads to New York City to participate in the Gateway Cities Summit: Local Implications of Executive Action.

The Agency for Human Rights and Community Partnerships is proud to announce that the Denver Office of Community Support has changed its name to THE DENVER OFFICE ON IMMIGRANT & REFUGEE AFFAIRS!

January 1st marks not only the beginning of a new year, but a new Office identity in our Agency!  Since 2005, we have been a committed partner in Denver’s immigrant integration pathways and in ensuring Denver remains a welcoming community to all of its residents.  It’s time our name more clearly reflected our priorities, values and goals!
