GRID suppression strategies are focused on serious chronic offenders who are at greater risk of being involved in violence. Suppression strategies include but are not limited to:
- Cross-agency coordination and communication between law enforcement, corrections, parole, probation, outreach workers and community agencies.
- Offender Notification Meetings designed to send a message to serious offenders that continued gang activity, particularly violence, will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate response. These meetings also provide individuals an opportunity to talk with GRID partners for support services.
- GIS mapping to identify hot spots for targeted enforcement and resource allocation.
