GRID prevention strategies are broken down into two distinct components: Primary and Secondary Prevention. Primary prevention strategies target the general population as a whole. Secondary prevention strategies target youth at-risk of gang involvement. Specific GRID strategies include:
- GRID Training Series
- Parent Support Groups
- GRID Prevention Coordinators are responsible for supporting both primary and secondary prevention strategies that include:
- Gang Resistance and Education Training (G.R.E.A.T.) program in both middle and elementary schools (primary prevention)
- Case management and services for youth at high-risk for gang involvement.
