GRID intervention strategies focus on active gang members under supervision. Intervention strategies are designed to provide both close supervision of high-risk individuals while under supervision as well as providing support services such as vocational and educational assistance in an effort to provide alternatives to gangs. GRID intervention strategies include:
- Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT): Team based approach that includes representation from law enforcement, corrections, parole, probation, diversion, outreach workers, public schools and service providers working together to reduce duplication of services while working collaboratively to provide necessary support services in a coordinated manner.
- Opportunities Provision Services: includes job readiness/retention training; subsidized work experience; job placement; educational advocacy and support for participants.
- Outreach Workers: Outreach workers provide advocacy and support to participants through regular contact and pro-social activities. Outreach workers also respond to crisis situations and help mediate gang conflicts to prevent violence.
