Capital Projects Submittal Requirements & Guidance Documents
- Section 208 Erosion Control Specification provides submittal requirements and guidance for obtaining an erosion control permit for capital projects. Plans and narrative must be prepared in accordance with the City & County of Denver's Erosion Control Requirements.
- Construction Activities Stormwater Manual (CASM). This guidance document identifies current requirements for the submittal of Construction Activities Stormwater Management Plans (SWMP) for development and significant redevelopment in the City and County of Denver. These plans are required as the supporting documentation for issuance of the Construction Activities Stormwater Discharge Permit (CASDP) which is required for construction sites defined under Section 2 of this document.
- Please note that all projects (capital projects & private development) located in the floodplain are required to obtain a floodplain permit. The floodplain permit is applied for by using the Sewer Use & Drainage Permit (SUDP) application from Development Services. Applications and submittals go through the SUDP process and must be submitted electronically by going to the Development Services website or made at the Development Services counter at 201 W Colfax Ave, 2nd Floor.
- To determine if you are located in a floodplain go to FEMA's Map Service Center and enter an address to view the applicable Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs). Make sure to also expand the "Show LOMC" column and view these Letters of Map Change (LOMC) to see if they apply because these determinations do not actually appear on the FIRM maps, but may effectively include or exclude your project from the floodplain.
- Floodplain questions can be directed to the City's Floodplain Administrator, Jeremy Hamer at (720) 913-0720 or jeremy.hamer@denvergov.org
