When Can I Begin Working on My Project?
 
With your approved plans and building permits in hand, you are ready to begin construction on your project. Not all projects require rough-in inspections or certificates of occupancy so it’s important to know the requirements for your specific project. Neighborhood Construction Guidelines
 
You can avoid problems with upset neighbors and inspectors by keeping your neighbors informed of upcoming work on your property and following some rules for courteous construction. To learn more about neighborhood construction rules and regulations, click here.
 
Permit Revocation and Expiration
 
Your permit expires two years from the date of issue if construction has not been completed within that timeframe. In addition, building permits are only good for a specific time period. If construction on your project does not start within six months of the issue date of the permit, the permit expires and must be renewed before work can continue.
