Protect yourself with building permits. Have your contractor pull a permit. The permit holder is responsible for compliance to the Building Code. Permits add value to your project. In exchange for your permit fee, you obtain an inspection to verify that work was done correctly. Contractors often extend a one (or more) year waranty with their contract, consult your contractor for more information to protect your investment.
