Senior Human Resources Professional

With more than fifteen years experience training in a variety of settings, Andi believes firmly that it is through learning that we have the power to change how we view ourselves in relation to our environment. Andi entered the City’s workforce in 2005 as a trainer for Office of Economic Development and now facilitates a range of topics for CSA ranging from supervisory courses to Business Writing.  She brings to the City and County of Denver a passion for supporting workplace literacy.

She has served as an adjunct faculty member for Community College of Denver and trained in multiple industries including aerospace, education, government, healthcare, manufacturing, and technology. She holds a Masters in Social Work from Eastern Washington University and a B.A. in Psycholinguistics from Oberlin College.

With twenty-five years of training, consulting and leadership experience in a wide variety of organizational settings, Marcia began her career with the City & County of Denver in 1990 as the Training Director for Denver’s Department of Health & Hospitals. She has contributed to other areas of Human Resource Management including classification, recruitment, and employee relations.
 
Focused on and committed to creating opportunities for employee development and organizational success, this Denver native gets a big kick out of working for the City & County of Denver, appreciating the opportunity to give back to her community. Dedicated to doing the best job possible for employees at all levels of the City & County of Denver, Marcia’s passion and enthusiasm are contagious. She welcomes and embraces every opportunity to encourage and facilitate the success and development of others.

Marcia is certified to deliver Crucial Conversations, Adventures in Attitudes and Winner’s Edge. She has a BS degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
 

Joe Mahoney

Joe Mahoney brings training to life—and relevance to training. For more than twenty years, Joe has led corporate development initiatives through innovative instructional design and facilitation to accelerate his client’s business imperatives. His passion is unleashing creativity and energy within organizations especially among change agents--and those who lead. Joe encourages lifelong learning and growth through risk-taking at all levels. He specializes in organizational change leadership/apprenticeships , manager/team alignment, rigorous implementation/execution for tangible impact, and high-expectation executive/HIPOT coaching. Joe is responsible for the City's executive leadership development.

Joe has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science from the Colorado School of Mines. Formerly, a professional engineer and certified Project Management Professional (PMP), he’s also been a certified Case Author for Harvard Business School’s MBA and Executive Education Programs. Joe spent twelve years as a certified Dale Carnegie Management/Leadership Development instructor. He now devotes the majority of his time and energy to public service, and ensuring that the City and County of Denver modernizes through energizing and unleashing managerial talent. 

Senior Human Resource Specialist

Rika came to the City and County of Denver in 1998 after working in a variety of industries and having her own change management consulting firm. She has extensive experience in both public and private sector. Her background is in organization design and development, executive coaching and leadership evolution, process improvement, team building, needs analysis, professional facilitation, strategic planning and coalition building. Rika is certified to deliver Profilor's 360-degree assessment instrument, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Performance Consulting, McNellis Compression Planning and Enlightened Leadership workshops.

Rika holds a Master's degree in Leadership & Organizational Change from Regis University, with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration.

Rob Moody
Senior Human Resource Specialist
Training and Organization Development Unit

Rob has over 25 years of experience in the areas of management and human resource development, especially in not-for-profit and public sector settings. He has extensive expertise as a consultant, classroom instructor, group facilitator, and project manager of organization and management development initiatives.
 
In addition to presenting seminars, he has counseled individuals in workplace issues, and work groups in their team development efforts. His work includes executive coaching, organizational communication, and change management. Rob has been a featured speaker and facilitator for numerous professional associations.
 
He has served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Colorado, and Metropolitan State College, as well as Red Rocks, Arapahoe, and Front Range Community Colleges. Rob holds a Master’s Degree in Management and Development of Human Resources and a B.S. Degree in Education.


David Pickart
Senior Human Resource Specialist
Training and Organization Development Unit

A former secondary school teacher, David developed the computer training program for Career Service Authority. He is responsible for teaching Microsoft Office and in house applications. His responsibilities have also in the past included the online training program (SPOT) which lead to speaking engagements about effectively integrating online learning into an holistic learning model. He began his career with the City in the mid-90’s at Denver General Hospital and then moved to Denver County Court.
 
He draws upon his previous experience when instructing users and also never forgets how he learned the applications himself. He loves the opportunity to help employees improve performance and achieve their goals. David holds two master’s degrees; one in Business Administration and a second one in IT Management and is a Microsoft Certified Trainer having earned his Master Certification in both Office 2003 and Office 2007.
