Statement from Sequoia Voting Systems Vice President for Communications and External Affairs Michelle Shafer:
 
"Sequoia made an unfortunate mistake with a portion of Denver's absentee ballots that we produced and mailed. We are extremely regretful of this error and take full responsibility for it. We are working diligently this weekend on this matter and will have all of the Denver ballots in the mail this Monday."

Important information for Denver voters went into the mail this week. The mailer explains the three options Denver's voters will have this year.  
5/20/08 Denver Elections Division moves to its new location, near the Colorado Boulevard / I-25 interchange.
4/22/08 Denver Elections Division seeks 2000 poll workers.
3/20/08 Denver's election model will not be affected by the defeat of SB-189 in the State Legislature.
3/5/08 State Senate committee approves SB-189 on a 5-0 vote. The bill requires Colorado's 2008 elections to be held by paper ballot at polling places. Denver Clerk and Recorder Stephanie O'Malley testified in support of the bill, saying that Denver's voters have expressed a preference for voting in person rather than by mail.
1/23/08 Clerk and Recorder O’Malley announced today that Denver’s voters will vote on paper ballots in 2008 and, unless the state legislature takes an action to prohibit it, voting will take place at combined precinct polling places:

  • 12/17/07 Colorado's Secretary of State Mike Coffman announced results of certification testing of Colorado's election voting equipment. Information on this may be found on the Colorado Secretary of State website.
