Site and Development Plan Review

If your project includes any of the below, you will need site plan approval prior to obtaining a building permit:

A new building or structure
Any work outside of an existing building or structure; or
Change of occupancy or change of use

Single Family and Duplex Projects

All projects related to single-family and duplex properties, from new construction to minor remodels, fences, decks, and other accessory structures are handled by the Residential 1 and 2 Family team. Contact the residential 1 & 2 family team for more information about submittals for these projects.

Minor Commercial, Industrial and Multifamily Projects

Minor commercial projects such as tenant finish work, minor additions, outdoor seating areas, and change of occupancy or use that does not request additional parking may require a minor site development plan. Contact Development Services at developmentservices@denvergov.org for additional information.

Major Commercial, Industrial and Multifamily Projects

If your project is a new multi-family or commercial building, a Project Coordinator will be assigned to your project.
