North Stapleton GDP Amendment 2

Changes are proposed by Forest City Stapleton to the North Stapleton General Development Plan (GDP) originally approved in 2007.  The proposed changes are the 2nd major amendment to the GDP.  The GDP boundaries are approximately I-70 on the south, 56th  Avenue on the north, Dallas Street on the east and Spruce Street on the west.  Forest City Stapleton indicates that the amount of residential development area and trunk open space has remained the same. The proposed changes include:

  • Retail land uses are proposed to become Multi-family land uses south of Northfield Boulevard to 47th Avenue between Willow Street and Central Park Boulevard
  • The locations of the regional recreation area and the proposed high school are moved from 56th Avenue and Spruce Street to 56th Avenue and Central Park Boulevard
  • A portion of the regional recreation area is moved north of 56th Avenue and connected to the southern regional recreation area by a pedestrian underpass
  • The median between 51st and 53rd Avenues is increased with more Trunk Open Space
  • The location of the proposed elementary school is moved from the west side to the east side of Verbena Street

Public hearing: to recommend to the Development Review Committee approval, approval with conditions, or denial of the proposed amendments to the GDP.  See Denver Zoning Code Section 12.4.12.11.
