The United States Environmental Protection Agency Indoor Air Quality Program (U.S. EPA) provides a variety of information regarding indoor air quality, radon, technical publications, toxicology, and the environment.

Two indoor air quality publications have recently been made available on the EPA web site. Building an Air Quality Action Plan is designed to serve as a refresher tool and checklist for facility managers. An Office Building Occupant’s Guide to Indoor Air Quality is intended to educate building managers on the common sources of indoor air quality complaints and encourage cooperation with building management.

The American Lung Association can provide information on a variety of indoor air quality issues, including indoor air contaminants, health effects, health research, and tobacco issues. The American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists, Inc. (ACGIH) offers technical publications regarding environmental health including industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, toxicology, hazardous materials, workplace health, and the environment.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) is responsible for conducting research and making recommendations on occupational safety and health standards, including indoor air quality comparison values for employees.

The Occupational Safety and Health Agency (OSHA) is responsible for developing mandatory indoor air quality standards and regulations,inspecting workplaces to enforce standards,and providing consultation and education for the workplace.

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) provides information on the hazards and health effects of toxic substances.

Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center (RMPDC) has medical personnel available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week for consultation on poisonings, hazardous materials, and general toxicology.

The Chemical Manufacturers Association (CHEMTREC) provides referrals for chemical health and safety information.

The CDPHE Indoor Radon Home Page provides information regarding radon risks, certification, new home construction, and links to other sources of radon information.
