A Note North District 9 Planning Efforts…
Several City planning and public infrastructure projects are underway in North Council District #9 between I-70, the Union Pacific train track alignment, along Brighton Boulevard, and along the Platte River from Cuernavaca Park up to the City’s boundary at 52nd Avenue. Much of this planning is in response to Fastracks, and all planning activity is an implementation of City plans including Blueprint Denver and the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Strategic Plan. These City plans lay the foundation for land use changes and transitions expected as a result of decisions regarding light and commuter rail stations and neighborhood revitalization efforts. Specific City plan efforts as well as related external agency projects in North Council District #9 are located below.
While not all activities are directly related, there is a high level of coordination between the City, the Regional Transportation District (RTD), and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) to understand how City planning processes and decisions intersect with those made within the scope of RTD and CDOT projects.
The Council District #9 website includes links to all of the following planning processes, some managed by City Staff, and others managed by other agencies. Please use this list as a quick reference to planning projects within District #9.
